Both.
Printed over a part after it has been divided — after 1. and 2., or I. and II. — to bring both players or halves back onto the line; it lasts until the next division.
Both: in orchestral parts it reunites a split staff, the German equivalent of a 2 or zu 2. Use it to cancel 1. or 2. indications rather than leaving the reader to infer the change from note stems. In keyboard music it can ask for both hands.
Bruckner, Symphony No. 5, first movement, first-violin staff, m. 9: “beide”, after “II.” at m. 5 and “I.” at m. 6, with “dim. sempre” two bars later.
Beide is one of 1755 terms in the Gradus musical dictionary: the words, abbreviations and instrument names that appear in printed scores, plus the vocabulary composers use to talk about them.
