All.
Printed over a section after a solo, half-section or desk division — often in parentheses (“(alle)”) — to bring all players back; it lasts until the next division. Other parts in the same bar may still be divided.
All: the German tutti for a section. Use it to cancel die Hälfte, einzeln or Solo; it is clearer than relying on the end of a bracket. Mark it precisely at the bar where everyone should play, and if the reduced passage was long, restate the dynamic — more players at the same marking make more sound.
Mahler, Symphony No. 5, fifth movement (Rondo-Finale), violas, m. 423: “(alle)” at p, while the cellos in the same bar are marked “die Hälfte”.
Alle is one of 1755 terms in the Gradus musical dictionary: the words, abbreviations and instrument names that appear in printed scores, plus the vocabulary composers use to talk about them.
