Without repeat: skip the repeats when returning.
Printed after a da capo or dal segno instruction — D.C. senza replica, Menuetto da capo senza replica — to say the repeats inside the returning section are not taken this time. It applies only to that reprise.
Classical minuets and scherzos traditionally drop their repeats on the da capo, but the convention was never universal, and performers today differ. Senza replica removes the doubt, so add it whenever the length of the return matters to your form. Print it with the jump itself (D.C. al Fine senza replica), where the player reads it before turning back.
Senza replica is one of 1755 terms in the Gradus musical dictionary: the words, abbreviations and instrument names that appear in printed scores, plus the vocabulary composers use to talk about them.
