Printed over a second-ending bracket (2., 2nd time) or as a direction (2nd time f, 2nd time only), applying to the second pass through a repeated passage.

Use second-time instructions to vary a repeat: a fuller dynamic, an added instrument, a part that is tacet the first time. In parts, print the instruction where the player will see it on the repeat. For more than two passes, write last time or number each pass.
Viardot, “Les filles de Cadix”, voice, m. 82: “(2nd time with all the voice)” is the edition’s English for her “la 2° avec toute la voix” a bar earlier.
