Rhythmically, with marked rhythm.
Printed above a passage, often intensified (“sehr rhythmisch”), where the pulse should be sharply defined, typically after freer or more lyrical writing. It holds until another character or tempo word, such as a ritard., releases it.
Rhythmically: strict, pointed, with accents in their metric places and no rubato. Use it to rein in a passage that might be sung or played freely, or to bring out a dance or march pulse. If you mean strict time only, im Takt says that; rhythmisch also asks for sharpness of articulation.
Wolf, Eichendorff-Lieder, “Der Freund”, voice, m. 19: “sehr rhythmisch”, in a song headed “Mässig”.
Rhythmisch is one of 1755 terms in the Gradus musical dictionary: the words, abbreviations and instrument names that appear in printed scores, plus the vocabulary composers use to talk about them.
