The Rule of the Octave carried to five sharps: the same harmonized scale, the same figures, and a hand that must now find A♯ without hesitating.

Remote keys are where the Rule pays its rent: the figures have not changed since the first exercise — 5/3 on the pillars, sixths between, the sevenths at the second and fourth degrees — only the terrain under the fingers is new. A student who hesitates here knows the notes; a student who does not knows the Rule.
The three upper voices of the model realization fit under one hand. This is what the Rule was memorized FOR. If the hand knows the pattern and not just the notes, five sharps cost nothing: the figures are identical to C major’s. Carry it into E major, F# major, A major.
