Very lively.
A tempo heading printed above the first system or at a new section, and in force until the next tempo word. In a French score it is the fast end of the vif family (assez vif, vif, très vif).
Very lively: vif carries energy and brightness as well as speed, so très vif asks for brilliance, not only velocity. It is close to Vivo or Presto in Italian terms. Make sure the figuration can actually be articulated at the speed the heading invites; if the character is light rather than vehement, add léger, or choose Vif and let the playing provide the brilliance.
Très vif is one of 1755 terms in the Gradus musical dictionary: the words, abbreviations and instrument names that appear in printed scores, plus the vocabulary composers use to talk about them.
