Somewhat animated; a modest increase in life and pace.
Printed above the staff where the livelier section begins, often after a rit. at the end of the previous phrase; it holds until a tempo, Tempo I or another tempo word.
Also spelled: Un poco animato
Somewhat more life and pace: a modest contrast, suited to the second stanza of a song or a middle section that should feel more eager. It differs little from un poco animato. In songs, place it where the text turns, and align the voice and piano markings so both performers change together.
