Go straight to the next movement.
Printed at the end of a movement, often as attacca subito il seguente, sending the player straight into the next movement without a pause. It covers that single join.
The fuller wording names the destination, which helps when the next movement begins on a new page. Joining movements shapes the form as much as the performance: the two become one span, as in the Moonlight Sonata, where the Adagio sostenuto leads directly into the Allegretto. Avoid it where players need time to change instruments, mutes or tuning.
Beethoven, Piano Sonata No. 14 in C-sharp minor, Op. 27 No. 2 (“Moonlight”), first movement, m. 69: “Attacca subito il seguente” after a pp close.
Attacca il seguente is one of 1755 terms in the Gradus musical dictionary: the words, abbreviations and instrument names that appear in printed scores, plus the vocabulary composers use to talk about them.
