Gradus GE-421 · cite this code — it is permanent. Rule id vs-text-text-cross-staff
Any text whose vertical position is computed as 'staff Y plus a constant' rather than 'staff Y, clamped to stay clear of the next staff's content' will collide whenever the next staff is closer than that constant.
Same as vs-dynamic-staff-collision-multivoice — this is the Gradus-specific instantiation of Gould/Ross's general staff-spacing-must-accommodate-intervening-content principle, elevated to a standing rule because the SAME fixed-offset technique recurs across multiple features in one file.
This rule needs the notated content and the rendered result together — the score says what should happen, the page says whether it did.
Gradus GE-421 — Text elements attached at a fixed offset from one staff must not land on an adjacent staff in any multi-stave layout — the general form of the confirmed note-label/dynamic bug. Gradus Engraving Rulebook v1.0. https://gradusmusic.com/engraving/rule/vs-text-text-cross-staff
